Self medicated

I was ready to write up a bitch session on how my day was screwed up yesterday by a "friend" but decided that it probably isn't worth my time to do so. I don't know how I will handle the situation with her, or if there really is a situation at all. In her mind, I know there isn't. And that is why I probably won't talk or see her for a long time. Self-centered people are too much of annoyance as it is to let them have an affect in your life. Eliminating her is the best short term move.

I realize that my Lenten sacrifice will need to come to an end. Not that I am succumbing to any need for some hard liquor, but I may have to do it for health reasons. I have had a sore throat for about two weeks now. I didn't think much of it at first and really still don't. But I think I am running a fever as well. I have woken up sweating in the morning with only one blanket. The heat is blasting away either.

So I searched the web for my symptons and it looks like I have confirmation on what I was thinking. I probably have strep throat. Not as severe as what it could be but most likely that is it. I have two choices. See a doctor or see the Doctor.

I don't go to doctors because if I get sick, I can cure myself quickly. That is where the Doctor really comes in. Doctor McGillicuddy will cure me. Any time I get a cold, I will drink whisky or tequila to get rid of it. That cold will be gone in 1 day. But will the same method work for strep throat? The websites say antibiotics. I think Maker's Mark is my antibiotic. Thus my Lenten sacrifice may have to been broken just so I can get better.

Here is the answer. If you see an MD, he'll prescribe antibiotics and then... no booze whatsoever! See, you can keep your lenten promise and get better! Up to you to decide if the cure is worth the disease.

Better cure yourself by the weekend. I will have a hard time explaining how I got strep throat otherwise!

Did you over self-medicate yourself? Hope you are feeling better!
