I've got a big butt. Over 6 pounds to be exact. A butt that I can't wait to rub some brown sugar on and dip in apple joice. A butt that should be mighty tasty come Saturday afternoon.
I don't think I have ever bought a pork butt before. I have bought other beef or pork roasts and just let them sit in a slow cooker all day but never a pork butt. At about 6.7 pounds it won't fit into my slow cooker so it looks like I am destined to use the oven.
I wasn't sure how I would cook this thing but I found a little recipe that seemed simple enough. Drizzle some worcestshire sauce on it and rub some brown sugar on it. Add some apple juice to the pan and let it cook. I figure it will take at least 6 hours for this thing to cook. That should mean I have some good eating for dinner.
