The kibosh

There is nothing worse than the old kibosh. You don't want the kibosh put on you. Worse yet, it when it is self inflicted. That is what I did to my game yesterday. Put the old kibosh on it.

I had a good run going at Full Tilt. Note the past tense. I had a number of good sessions, increasing my bankroll up by 50%. It was a steady progression, playing 1/2 Hold Em and some .25/.50 Razz to change things up. After work, I had another good session playing two tables and was quite happy. So I headed up to the bar to have a couple beers and break up the routine. Basically, I needed to get out of the house.

Since no one was up there, I only stayed a couple of hours. Buzzed up a bit, I came home and hopped back on, looking to extend my luck. Mentally, I was thinking it was about time I got rid of that FTP hangover (where you run good and then every possible suckout happens to you. So bad you can only sit back and laugh like a madman). Yeah, this isn't specific to Full Tilt but it seems to happen to me at this site more than any other. So basically I went through a horrendous session, losing in just about every way imaginable. At least I made some back in a SnG. But I thought that the hangover was gone. I thought wrong. In the process I managed to mentally put the kibosh on myself.

So what does that all mean. Nothing. Until I put the kibosh on someone else. Not intentionally mind you, but I couldn't help but think of the kibosh this morning when listening to the sports report on the radio. The target of my Brewers disdain for the last 2 years has been Geoff Jenkins. I would love to see the Brew Crew trade him. Now he is a on a 14 game hitting streak, collecting some timely hits- timely hits and Jenkins rarely are seen in the same sentence- and raising his batting average to around .275. But he is hitting well now. I hope some other teams are watching this, needing to add a left handed *cough* power hitter. Please, someone come calling for him. The Brewers have some AAA talent that could fill his spot at a much cheaper price.

Yep, that may be the kibosh on Jenkins. I did it. So if Jenks goes into the tank this weekend, you know who to blame.

Something I can't put the kibosh on is America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys. The triplets are heading into the Ring of Honor. Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith, the Cowboys that led them to 3 Super Bowls en route to being the team of the 90s, are getting the highest recognition possible. I can still see them playing, catching, running, leading the team to victories. Being drunkenly happy on Super Bowl Sundays. When they won Super Bowl XXVII, I was in a state of bliss. Like one everlasting orgasm. The feeling was beyond words. I thank you guys once again for many hours of football happiness. You certainly made this Cowboys fan proud to bear a star.

That's the difference between the Packers and the Cowboys. Jimmy Johnson will not make the ring of honor. If he had coached the Packers, they would have named two streets after him.

Ring of Honor, that is great. Hell, all I ever end up on is every bar's Wall of Shame. So, about this everlasting orgasm. Is it like an Everlasting Gobstopper?

Did you mean to write 'wear' in the last sentence? If so, that Freudian Slip could mean you are really---a---Bears Fan!?!?! Aside to Gambino-depends on how much gob is in your stopper.
