I just cannot figure why I cannot sleep well on a Sunday night. Not a clue why. I can go out and drink all day, fall asleep and be wide awake at 2 am. Or I can take it easy, not touch a drop of alcohol and have trouble falling asleep and be wide awake at 2 am.
Why is that?
It must have something to do with the anticipation of getting up to go to work or something. But that doesn't make much sense to me. I like my work. I don't dread having to wake up early to go to my job. I have been there in the past but I am not there right now.
I had a pretty good weekend. Went to the State Fair on Friday where I saw some good bands and some not so good bands. I may have a new candidate for worst band I have seen this year. In fact, I coined them the most awesomely bad band of the year after the Vh1 bit. Anyone in the Milwaukee area can get a good laugh by seeing a group called (Awesomely) Bad Medicine.
They got the bad part right. It would have been more accurate to call them Terrible Medicine. You name it, they did it poorly. The lead singer can't sing. The guys on guitar can't sing. They don't play that well and they look like a bunch of stiffs on stage. No personality. No emotion. No nothing.
It was truly, awesomely bad.
I did catch part of another act that seems interesting, Last Call (me thinks they need to double check their website as it proclaims them to be Milwaukee's SEXIST rock band. Can they buy a vowel? E please!). A friend knows the guy in the band. They are entertaining with a pretty good mix of music. I just wish they would stay on the stage. First it is the bass player wandering out into the crowd. Then a guy who sings. Then the chick who sings has to do it as well. I was expecting the drummer to strap on a big bass drum and go into the crowd. It is silly. Especially when the guy is out there singing like some drunk in the crowd. Call me strange but I prefer to see the band on stage. If you are going to go out into the crowd, go interact with them. Don't go out to sing.
Well, should focus on the work thing. If I can stay awake that is. I can see this being a caffeine laced day.
