Roll me over

The best thing about bringing in the doughnuts is seeing the happiness on the faces of the people that work around you. The thanks you receive and the gratitude of making someone’s day. It is a warm feeling that can take you through a long, boring day.
Wow! I can’t believe I actually typed up that bullshit. The best thing about bringing in the doughnuts is that you can eat as many as you like and no one can say shit about it.
I brought in said doughnuts today because since I had to go the store this morning, I figured spending a couple bucks in the bakery section always makes your co-workers appreciate you a bit more. Simple gestures go a long way people.
I was too lazy to go to the store last night. The trip would have been to get some dinner rolls to bring to my brother’s house tomorrow. Last night I had this grand idea that I could stop by on my way to work. It saved me a trip and not having to deal with any crowds. No way was I going to the store this afternoon.
I also figured that there would be a mad rush on dinner rolls and by going in the morning I would be getting a fresh batch from the overnight stocking. I don’t know if I could have been more wrong. I guess they don’t do much stocking of shelves in the wee hours of the morning any more. The dinner roll section was practically bare. Bare of ‘traditional’ rolls that is. There were some Italian style but not the kind usually associated with Thanksgiving.
I grabbed the Italian cracked wheat because they looked good. In fact, I thought they looked better than the ones that would have been next to them. I just wonder if I am going to catch any guff for ‘bringing the wrong rolls’. Maybe I should grab some beer tomorrow just in case I want to bail early.

The doughnut bringer is always the hero! Except the Krispy Kreme bringer.
I don't even know why we have rolls for Thanksgiving. No one ever eats them. They are eaten the next day with the leftover Turkey. My husband makes little tiny Turkey sandwiches.
