Consider my foot. Yesterday I was in some pain at work. My toe ailment seemed to have gotten a lot worse and my foot was slightly swollen. I can't begin to explain the relief I felt when I got home and got my shoe off. I took it easy, relaxing on the chair with my feet on the ottoman. Soon the swelling had subside and I felt pretty good.
This morning there was more progress. The pain has subsided quite a bit. I would say my toe is about 90%. Walking was much easier, though not painless. But I would say I am on schedule to be 100% by the weekend.
But I still wondered why there was a flare up on Monday and why it got much worse on Wednesday. I thought about what I ate, where I was, if I had stubbed the toe, about what I drank. I analyzed what the differences were between the days. On Wednesday afternoon I realized what the difference was. In fact, it was staring right at me.
Apples.
Yes, apples. I had some apple pie on Sunday which would have led to the flare up on Monday. On Wednesday, I ate an apple early in the morning. Soon after, my foot was swelling up. As far as I know, I am not allergic to apples. I love apples.
Part of me would really like to test this theory and eat an apple right now. But I don't want to go through another couple days of a fucked up toe and the pain associated with it.
Who knows. Maybe I'll eat the apple that is on my desk tomorrow if my toe feels normal. But for now, I think I'll test a different theory and prove it wrong. I am going to start drinking beer.

Maybe not the apple, maybe the chemicals they use to wash and preserve. I have a problem with it on grapes.
I'm told it is becoming more and more common on fruits.
No apples until after the weekend, pls :)
The apple beer from New Glarus is damn good. Had it this weekend, and will be picking up more when able.
