Feeling fantastic

I prepared for the worst and may have ended up with the best. Two days removed from having my wisdom teeth yanked, I feel fine. I woke up this morning to no pain or discomfort. I feel lucky.

I haven't felt that much pain over the past two days. There was some soreness yesterday but it wasn't a throbbing pain. I took only 1 of the 600mg ibuprofen that I was prescribed. With the two I had on Thursday, it has been a grand total of 3 pills taken. I haven't even touched the vicadin. I have iced the side of my jaw as a precaution but that wasn't needed today.

I don't consider myself out of the woods by any means. I still need to take it easy with what I eat and treat the area with care. But that hopefully will be just a couple more days. I will see the doctor on Friday, when I hope to hear that everyone looks fine.

I think the toughest part has been not to poke the holes with my tongue. I am tempted to probe around to see what is missing but I understand how detrimental that could be. I don't want to take any chances with something going wrong because I loosened a blood clot with my tongue exposing the wound to bacteria.

Hopefully I can eat something a bit more solid by Monday. I can tell you one thing. The mac and cheese I had yesterday never tasted so good.

For now, I think I'll go have myself a beer.

Your toughness means more extra pharmies for me. Well done.
