Surgery

I'm going under today. Getting oral surgery done. Take a look at my choppers and focus on the ones on the end. Yep, those wisdom teeth are being yanked.

I do like this photo. The took this panoramic x-ray a couple weeks back and left it on the screen while I waited for the doctor to come in the office. I just had to take some pictures of my teeth.

Take a look at those white spots everyone. Those were cavities. That is what happens when you don't go to the dentist for a decade. Sure my teeth didn't hurt but I knew I should have been getting checkups and cleanings. Though I was ashamed, I bit the bullet and when in to have it done. It took a couple visits for them to take care of me. I now consider it one of the best corrections to a mistake I have ever made.

My big concern right now is whether to go with nitrous or to be totally knocked out. I was to be able to get home as soon as possible so I am leaning towards the nitrous with some local shots of anesthesia. My concern of them putting me under is having a dental hygienist stick a needle in my arm. The people at the blood center have a heck of a time getting a needle in my arm. I am not sure a hygienist will be able to do it any better.

The other concern is what shirt to wear. I need to remember not to wear white. As cool as it may seem to walk out of the office with blood on my shirt, I don't think the surgeon would think it is as cool as I would.

I am curious as to what kind of meds they may give me. Vicadin? Percoset? What killer pill will I get to pop?

Good Luck! Let us know if you need anything. Just need to be careful afterwards to avoid infection. That can be worse then the actual pulling itself.
Pleasant dreams bud.

I got Vicodin but it made me sick so just used tylenol. If you get dry socket pick up clove oil from the drug store. Works wonders.

Let me know if you need anything.

Only a couple of visits? You're lucky.

I didn't go for 5 years, and am still getting things fixed now 5 years later. My teeth were bad.
