I can see it all around this week. People going through the motions. Getting work done but not necessarily working. Next week will be the same.
It is like putting on the cruise control as you speed down the highway. You just want to get there as quickly and effortlessly as possible.
Plans are being formulated for the weekend. I have managed to snag Friday off. Thursday will be football and drinking into the wee hours of the morn. Friday will be Big Momma's Christmas party. Saturday will be a gathering of friends at another pub. Sunday will be... Sunday will be...
Strange.
With my family obligations over, I don't have anything going on Christmas Eve or Christmas in terms of celebrating the holiday. I will probably get together with friends again on Christmas Eve, and of course the big Dallas Cowboys game on Christmas Day, but beyond that, there will be no opening presents, or eating of cookies.
I don't know if that is a good or bad thing. Just different than I am used to. After attacking the liver for a number of days straight, it may be a good thing to recover a bit so I can cruise through the last week of the year. I should find something charitable to do. Make good use of my time on Sunday.
But it is these last 6 days of work I need to get through. Hopefully there will not be a blow up at work that makes things hectic. I could be content getting some stuff done and reading blogs for the rest of the week.
