Beer sampling bill passes Senate
Madison - The state Senate today passed a bill allowing two 3-ounce samples of beer to be given to adults in liquor stores and grocery stores. The bill's sponsor, Sen. Pat Krietlow (D-Eau Claire), said it would give brewers the same free-sample rights as sellers of wine. It would require the samples to be handed out between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m."It has been done responsibly for years with wines," Kreitlow said. The state Assembly could act on the same bill later today. That vote would send it
to Gov. Jim Doyle.

Finally, some good comes out of state Government!
