The art of porn

Damn, my schedule is jam packed today. So of course I will waste some time in the morning doing this. I calling prioritizing.

I was watching a show last night from HBO. It was called Thinking XXX. HBO has had on a number of porn documentaries over the past months detailing what happens in the industry. Some of the porn stars would be exactly like you believe they are while some are very intelligent and interesting people. Thinking XXX captured most of the smart ones in a very interesting art project. They explained it as:

In 2002, after 25 years photographing art-world personalities, celebrities
and world leaders, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders tackled a new subject: adult film
stars. The resulting Bulfinch Press book, "XXX: 30 Porn-Star Portraits,"
features paired portraits, one clothed and one nude, of a cross-section of
straight and gay actors, from porn legends to rising stars. These photos are
interspersed with 15 essays on the intersection of pornography, sexuality and
culture from a wide range of notable writers, who contribute to the ongoing
dialogue about the "pornification" of modern culture. THINKING XXX includes
footage of the photographer using a large-format portrait camera to create the
shots in his book, as well as conversations with the actors, who discuss how
they began their careers, how being a porn star has changed their lives, and how
they feel about sex and the industry. In addition, authors, artists and cultural
observers - such as Karen Finley, Nancy Friday, Richard Johnson, Adrian Nicole
LeBlanc, Michael Musto, Whitley Strieber, Gore Vidal, John Waters and Faye
Wattleton - offer far-ranging, provocative perspectives on porn today, yesterday
and tomorrow.

What interested me most, besides some beautiful naked women, was the pictures themselves. Each actor was shown clothed and then nude in the same pose. It was the art that had me captivated. To an extent, some of the background they did on the girls didn't matter as much as seeing how their photographs were captured. I may have to find the book. If you have HBO, look it up. Very interesting show that puts porn in a different light.

Stock update: Forgot to mention the activity from Friday. Up 20 cents. Yesterday up 13 cents. I may be on CNBC later this week touting my newest picks.

I saw that movie. I liked the way the women played with their nipples to get them hard before the shoot.
