Diary of not camping- Day 2

My friends took off for a week of camping in the southeast corner of the state. Work prevented me from joining them. Since I can't be there physically I figured I could join them in spirit and report how things are going. Channeling them is not as easy as one would think.

Damn it was cold last night. Tried as I might, I couldn't keep warm inside the sleeping bag. I woke up with a stone cold arm and nose. I can't begin to tell you how miserable I felt. I just wanted to get by the fire and warm up. Plus I had to get out of that tent. Whose idea is it to keep feeding D saurkraut on these trips?

The day wouldn't get much better. It was cold and windy all day. I kinda wish we had some kites as it was the only thing that made sense in this wind.

Being that we are in Wisconsin, we did what anyone else would do when you have a dreary, cold, windy day. We went to the brewery. The New Glarus Brewery to be exact. I came away with this:

A project beer at New Glarus. It is a golden ale. I have been told that the best thing to do is let it age a couple of months. It may be hard to do but I am giving it a shot.

I am hoping we don't have our first casualty of the trip. Annette was hoping to get some work done during the day but her internet connection is for crap. She figured she could use Mo's droid as her connection but it is very slow and she isn't able to do too much. She took a chance on coming out for the trip and now thinks she may leave tomorrow so she can work on Thursday and Friday. I hope she doesn't leave.

I am thinking of using all the wood in the fire tonight. Anything to stay warm .

I think when Annette goes home you should come back with Ben on Friday. He needs company for the ride back out here.
